Daniela Dogliani

I was born in Cuneo, a small Italian town at the edge with France, and grew up living between mountains, paths, free-range backyard lifestyle and the invasion of Japanese cartoons.
I've always been a curious and attentive child, I think that curiosity is my daily drive.
At home I had comics, illustrated books and the legendary "I Quindici" (an Italian enciclopedia for kids), but the big surprise was the Public Library of my hometown, the part dedicated to the children embraced the Montessori Method and was an undiscovered paradise full of adventures at kids range.
I devoured all without distinction as long as it was adventurous, funny and ironic. These qualities remain at present the keywords of my work. With comics was love at first sight and I started my graphic storyteller life creating alternative endings to the stories of my favourite heroes.
Among the infinite possibilities of career that every child dreams, to keep drawing was such a matter-of-fact that even the course of my studies followed this impulse: first Art Highschool and then Academy of Fine Arts where I completed my training with a master in Visual Arts and a thesis dedicated to graphic novel.

As artist I took part at several exhibitions and projects and since 2007 I'm working as a freelance illustrator and visualizer collaborating with advertising agencies, graphic studios and educational publishing, I also realize picture books.

When not illustrating I love to cook, sew and crafting. But since I moved into city I miss mountains, paths and that old free-range life, thus I spend as much time as I can immersed into nature.
