Artists : Caroline Williams

From an early age I have always been passionate about art and have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. I was born in Bishops Stortford and grew up very happily in High Wycombe and then Dore, a little village in Sheffield.

I graduated from Lincoln De Montfort University in 2000 and exhibited my work at ‘New Designers' in London. This is where my career in illustration began and I have been illustrating as a freelance artist for the greetings industry internationally, winning a 'Louie Award' in New York in 2007.

I joined Bright in 2008 and started illustrating Children's books (something I have always wanted). Since joining Bright I have been very busy and have not looked back! The 8 years I had designing cards and wrapping paper helped me develop my painting style and characters I use today. I still have time for my trips home to visit the people that mean the most to me, my family and my twin sister Victoria.

Some of my passions are (not in any particular order) puppies, going on holiday, my family, collecting Children's books, Basil! (the family dog) Avocados, mangos, dark chocolate, cleaning, pampering, shopping and more puppies!

I work from my studio at home in Nottingham where I live with my boyfriend Tom and I am my happiest when painting. I enjoy painting immensely, especially the little details that make a painting look 'magical'. Animals are a real passion of mine (especially my little dog Basil!) I adore them and love painting them, turning them in to cute and whimsical endearing characters. All my work is painted in acrylic. I love working with clean vibrant colours with different textures.

I feel extremely lucky to be able to do the job I have always wanted. I am so excited about my future of working in illustration and my dream has become a reality. I am constantly striving to improve my portfolio, keeping it new and fresh. Such a wonderful way to make a living!
